UVERworld's guitarist Akira and Dizzy Sunfist's vocalist Ayapeta have recently announced on their social media that they have been married since November of last year. With the announcement, the couple also revealed that they are expecting their first child, who is due to arrive sometime in the fall. From September onward, Dizzy Sunfist will be cancelling any live performances, until further notice.
Below is the original statement Ayapeta posted to her Instagram earlier today. Pledis Entertainment released a statement today officially announcing the disbandment of the K-pop group PRISTINE after only two years. They first debuted in March 2017 and released two mini albums, but it has been almost two years since the entire group released an album together. Pledis has confirmed that PRISTIN members Eunwoo, Kyla, Nayoung, Rena, Roa, Xiyeon, and Yuha have wished to terminate their contracts and leave the company. However, the remaining three members Kyulkyung, Sungyeon, and Yehana have decided to remain with Pledis and pursue solo careers.
Let's wish all of these girls good luck as they embark on new endeavors. It has been almost three years since MIYAVI released his last studio album "Fire Bird", and he has just announced a new one is on the way. The album is titled "NO SLEEP TILL TOKYO" and will be released on July 24. Tokyo Ghoul manga artist Sui Ishida will be providing art for the album's cover.
J-Pop group Hey! Say! JUMP has just announced that they will be releasing two new singles on May 22. Titled "Lucky-Unlucky" and "Oh! My Darling", the former will be serving as the theme song for the TV drama Atama ni Kitemo Aho to wa Tatakauna! The latter is a solo song from Ryousuke Yamada to be used in a Kose Lachesca commercial. Along with the Regular Edition, CD-only version of the double-sided single, two different Limited Edition versions (CD/DVD) will also be available for purchase.
It has only been two months since Logic released his single "Keanu Reeves" back in January, and yesterday he posted a music video to his Twitter and Instagram of a new, untitled track. In the video, he stares into the camera while rapping, with a large gash on his neck that progressively gushes more blood as the video goes on. Today it was revealed that the song's title is "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind", accompanied with a new visual of a seemingly severed, bloodied hand holding a smartphone. Logic he announced on his social media that the single will be available everywhere this Friday.
Back in 2016, rumors began to spread that J-Pop singer Kana Nishino was dating her former manager. However, for the most part, Nishino was able to keep the relationship under wraps. Today, on Nishino's birthday, it was reported that the two have gotten married. Currently on an indefinite hiatus from the pop music industry, the singer has said she wants to experience new things like traveling more. May she and her husband find happiness in their marriage.
Three and a half years after the release of their album "Butterflies", J-Rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN finally announces it will be putting out a new studio album on July 10. The album's title has yet to be revealed, but we do know it will come in three versions: a regular edition (CD), a limited edition A (CD+DVD), and limited edition B (CD+Blue-ray). After the album's release, BUMP OF CHICKEN will be on a dome tour of Japan from July 12 through September 22. Today the band also released a music video for their new single "Aurora". Yesterday on the group's fan club site, Kalafina announced its disbandment. Kalafina was originally supposed to make a comeback, but it ended up not working out due to problems with their management agency, Space Craft Produce.
The group's dismantling began back in February of 2018, when Kalafina's composer, Yuki Kajiura, departed from Space Craft Produce. A couple of months later in April, Keiko left the agency, and Hikaru followed in November of the same year. Seungri, a member of the popular boy group BIGBANG, announced yesterday that he would be retiring from the entertainment industry. South Korean police have confirmed Seungri is being investigated in connection to a prostitution ring involving Seoul nightclubs such as Burning Sun and Club ARENA. According to police, Seungri's alleged messages on the app KakaoTalk were found in which he offered prostitutes to business clients. Seungri is currently banned from leaving the country.
On March 11, Seungri apologized to fans via Instagram, leaving a statement (translated by Soompi) in which he says: "I think this is where I stop even if it’s at least [to protect] the honor of YG and BIGBANG." A few hours after posting this message to Instagram, a songwriter YGM at YG Entertainment's sub-label, THE BLACK LABEL, hinted on his Instagram story that Seungri did not voluntarily leave YG, but was instead expelled. He posted a screenshot of a comment saying that Seungri was "fooling around by telling people that he voluntarily left when he was actually kicked out" and replied to it with one word: "Real". This was met with outrage, and people began leaving disparaging comments towards Seungri in response. Shortly after, YGM deleted his Instagram account with no explanation. Because YG didn't officially make a statement on the matter, the validity of YGM's comment cannot be verified. Debuting in 2006, BIGBANG was rumored to be making a comeback this year, but with Seungri "quitting" and his scandal shining a negative light on the group's name, fans speculate they won't be returning from hiatus, or at least the comeback will be postponed for the time being. The year is 2014. South Korean singer and rapper Heize releases her self-titled debut EP. Fast forward a couple of years and she bursts onto the K-Pop mainstream scene with the MV for "Shut Up & Groove", her hit song featuring fellow artist DEAN. A few years and EPs later, we're in the present day, and Heize announces she will be releasing her first full-length album titled "She's Fine" on March 19. Seen below is a teaser visual posted to her official Facebook page on March 10.
